Assistant Professor

Assistant Professor of Intellectual Property Rights at V.M. Salgaocar College of Law since 2004. She is a visiting Faculty at the Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi. She was awarded Academic Excellence Award for her contribution to the Legal Profession at Legal Summit and Awards, 2018. She is the first Indian to be awarded a scholarship and invited to represent India at the Peace Palace, The Hague the Netherlands for her outstanding Legal research on the Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against women.

She has been regularly delivering lectures at various institutions, universities, colleges, schools in Goa, India and abroad. Her academic writings on intellectual property rights, laws for women, laws for children, technology laws have been published in reputed International and Indian Law journals.

She is the Director of the Diploma in Civil Law Program which is conducted in Association with School of Law, University of Lisbon. She is the Director of Intellectual Property Law Club, Family Law Club, and Placement Cell. She is actively involved in organizing Guest Lectures by inviting eminent Judges, Advocates and leading speakers for the students of the College. She has been instrumental in organizing specialized Training programs on topics like Cyber Laws and Cyber Forensics for Judges, Public Prosecutors, Police Personnel and students.
Dr. Ranjana Souza Cordeiro graduated in B.Sc. from Srimati Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao. She completed her LL.M with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights from V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar. She completed her Ph.D. from Goa University. She has taught subjects like Legal and Constitutional History, Environmental Studies, Criminal Procedure Code, Family Law II, Interpretation of Statutes, Land Laws, Contract II, Intellectual Property Rights, Women, Poverty Law and Development, Child and Law, Patent Law and Registration, Trademark and Design Law.
