Dr. Sonal U. Sardessai

Assistant Professor

She has a teaching experience of over 10 years. She started her career as Lecturer at G.R. Kare College of Law Margao [2005-2007] then continued it as a visiting faculty for Don Bosco College, Panjim for various courses on legal areas [2008-2014] and Sridora Saraswat College, Mapusa [2012] for Cyber Laws. Presently she is working as Assistant Professor of Law at this Institution.

Her areas of academic interest include Arbitration Act, Women & Law, Labour Law, Procedural Laws, and Evidence Law. She has also contributed as a member of the Legal Aid Society at V.M. Salgaocar Law College.

She completed her LL.B (Hons.) and pursued LL.M in Intellectual Property Rights from V.M. Salgaocar College of Law through Goa University. She has successfully completed Diploma in Cyber Law by Asian School of Cyber Laws, Pune and completed her Ph.D on Domestic violence as a socio-legal issue from Goa University through V.M. Salgaocar Research Centre.

She has presented research papers at several National and State-level conferences and has been invited as a subject matter expert at many forums. She has essayed the role of a trainer for various legal literacy programmes for NGOs, Government Officials, Mamlatdars etc. on diverse legal issues. She is Empanelled as resource person for various departmental government training programmes with GIPARD, Ela Farm from Jan 2009 till date for various presentations on topics relating to Womens’ legal issues, Family Laws in Goa [Goan Portuguese Laws], Right to Information, Rural Literacy Campaign, etc. She has been Resource person on RTI – a residential training programme on Good Governance & Transparency through Right to Information by NPC India – Delhi.
