Dr. Srinivasa Rao is an Associate Professor of Law and Co-ordinator for LL.M and Research centre. He is a member of the Board of Studies for the Department of Law at Goa University.

He joined the V.M. Salgaocar College of law in the year 2000. He worked as an Officiating Principal of V.M. Salgaocar College of Law from June 2012 to August 2015 and from August 17th 2020 to October 19th 2020.

He is a recognized Faculty for LL.M Programme and Research Guide (for PhD) by Goa University. Two students were awarded PhD under his guidance. At present, another 4 students are doing research (PhD) under his guidance. He has published 18 articles in various National law Journals and magazines. He participated in several workshops and seminars at a national level and presented papers, and resource persons at several national seminars and webinars.
He was head of the department at V.M.Salgaocar College of Law from 2016 to 2019. He is instrumental in introducing Criminal Trial Advocacy to the students and also a faculty for Prison Clinic and Consumer Clinic in the College. He was a NSS programme officer for seven years and conducted several special camps during his tenure as programme officer at V.M.Salgaocar College of Law. He was editor in chief for Lexpression, a referred law journal, at V.M.Salgaocar Colleg of Law.
External Referee to examine and report on the thesis of Ph.d candidates of Karnataka University Dharwad, Shivaji University Kolhapur and Karnataka State Law University, Hubli.

Professional Affiliations

He is a recipient of the Dedicated Teacher Award from Inner Wheel Club; Panjim 2010.

Before joining the academia he practiced as an advocate in Civil and Criminal Courts for two years. During his career, he worked in several institutions including P.R.R. Law College, Hyderabad, and also acted as Principal of T.L.N. College of Law, Bobbili, A P. from 1995 to 1996, Margadarshi College of Law, and Karimnagar from 1997 till 2000.

He was a Chairman of the Board of Studies for the Department of Law and worked as Director for the Central Assessment Programme and Board of Examiner in Examination Centre at Goa University several times. He was controller of examinations at V.M.Salgaocar College of Law for Jan.2022 examinations for both B.A, LL.B and LL.B Degree. He was also a member of the Goa State Legal Services Authority. He was Head of the Department at V.M.Salgaocar College of Law for three years from 2016 to 2019.

His research works include “The Emergence of the Concept of Legal Aid and its application in contemporary Goa – A Legal Study”, Domestic Enquiry, and Disciplinary proceedings at A.P.S.R.T.C in Karimnagar region, Welfare measures under Factories Act in Gopala Krishna Jute Mills, at Bobbili.
