Research & Development
Dissemination of legal knowledge and enabling the student to apply such knowledge to resolve the conflict is the essence of Legal Education. Equally important is the creation of knowledge and innovation for the advancement of justice. The Research and Development at VMSCL blend the traditional doctrinal research with empirical research in the legal field to bring innovation in improving access to justice.
The fundamental objective of R&D is to create and nurture an ecosystem to foster a culture of inquiry and critical thinking at VMSCL. The R&D encourages all the stakeholders to meaningfully engage in contemporary socio-legal issues through projects, conferences, workshops and legal aid clinics. The R&D also promotes collaborations with the BAR, Bench, Civil Society Organisations, Government and the community in bringing desired legal reforms. It also strives to integrate the action research with teaching and community engagement.

- To strengthen institutional research capabilities and infrastructure and create an ecosystem to promote interdisciplinary research.
- To cultivate ecosystem to promote research-oriented academic culture and provide economic and academic incentives to support research and publication in reputed journals, books, and digital platforms.
