Green Initiative 2021-22

V. M. Salgaocar College of Law as a part of the Green Initiative, used College premises for cultivating vegetables. The Principal Dr. Shaber Ali, Administrator Shri. D. Pednekar, Mr. Lavu Govekar (Physical Education Instructor), and the teaching and non-teaching staff played a pivotal role in this initiative. Work commenced on 4th January 2021 when the ground was cleared and leveled. The adjoining well was repaired and fixed and the land was divided into smaller plots and the first saplings were planted on 26th January 2021.

Soon after that, different vegetables were planted in the plots. These vegetables included green oregano, mint leaves, Goan Gawar, Amaranth leaves (Tamdi bhaji), Chillies (Red and Green), Raddish, Mustard Greens, sweet corns, lady fingers and brinjal.

Harvesting of the vegetables was done on 4th March 2021 where the teaching and non teaching staff purchased the vegetables. The event was a grand success.
